Miguel Minutti-Meza
Senior Economic Research Fellow (2018-2019)
Miguel Minutti-Meza was a senior economic research fellow in the Office of Economic and Risk Analysis. He comes to the PCAOB from the University of Miami, where he is an associate professor in the accounting department.
Professor Minutti-Meza's research focuses on the role of audits and financial accounting in the capital markets, including topics such as the drivers and consequences of audit quality and the effects of recent standards mandating an expanded auditor report.
Professor Minutti-Meza is an editor of the academic journal Contemporary Accounting Research, associate editor of Journal of Accounting Research, and a member of the editorial boards of Review of Accounting Studies, AUDITING: A Journal of Practice & Theory, and Journal of Financial Reporting.
Professor Minutti-Meza 's earned a Master of Management & Professional Accounting and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. His professional experience includes working as internal audit manager at the Bank of Nova Scotia, a large financial institution in Canada, and as an auditor at Perez Fuentes, a local firm in Mexico.
